The experience

Wirilda Environment Park occupies about 140 hectares beside the southern edge of Tyers Park. Created with environmental education and recreation in mind, it provides an accessible introduction to the river landscape and a natural starting point for exploring the country upstream.

Picnic facilities make the park worthwhile as its own destination, while more experienced walkers know it as the gateway to the Wirilda Track towards Moondarra Reservoir. This page describes the park itself; the campground and demanding long-distance track retain their own practical listings.
