Petersons Lookout
Step out above Tyers River Gorge and watch forested slopes fall away towards the broad Latrobe Valley.
The experience
Petersons Lookout is one of Tyers Park’s defining viewpoints. A short walk of about 400 metres reaches the craggy edge, where the Tyers River has cut a deep course between steep, forested slopes and the view opens beyond the gorge towards the valley.
The approach is brief but the setting demands care. Expect uneven ground, steep sections and exposed cliff hazards, keep well back from unstable edges and check current Parks Victoria conditions before leaving. Dogs are not permitted in this part of the park.
