The Vet Project: $75 Cat Desexing Clinic

Affordable, accessible cat desexing is coming to Warragul and Morwell — and it could not be easier for local pet owners to do the right thing by their cats and their community. Thanks to the generous support of South Gippsland Animal Aid, eligible residents can have their cat desexed and microchipped for the low cost of just $75.

The Vet Project is bringing its subsidised veterinary clinic to two locations across the region, with sessions in Warragul across three days in August and Morwell across three days in September. The initiative is cats-only and is open to residents with no council restrictions applying, making it widely accessible across both areas.

At each clinic, cat owners will receive desexing plus a free microchip for $75. Optional add-ons are also available on the day, including an F3 vaccination for an additional $45 and a three-month flea and worm treatment for an additional $40. A concession card is required, and a limit of two cats per household applies.

Initiatives like this make a real difference to animal welfare outcomes across the Latrobe City region and surrounding areas, helping to reduce unwanted litters, ease pressure on shelters, and support responsible pet ownership for families who might otherwise face cost barriers to veterinary care.
