Tough Guy Book Club – Moe VIC Chapter

About

Good books, cold drinks, and no pressure — the Moe VIC Chapter of Tough Guy Book Club turns the local pub into a surprisingly welcoming literary space once a month. Whether you've read every page or none at all, you're welcome at the table.

Tough Guy Book Club is a national movement bringing men together around books, fostering connection and conversation in a relaxed, judgement-free environment. The Moe chapter meets monthly at the Moe Hotel, giving locals a regular reason to slow down, read something interesting, and talk about it with other blokes.

Each session runs for three hours and centres on that month's chosen book — announced at the previous meeting and available via the club's website. Attendees are encouraged to underline passages that stand out and bring their copy along, but even if you haven't cracked the spine, come anyway: no one gives a damn, and the conversation is the point. Each meeting also reveals next month's pick, with pre-order details shared for those who want a head start.

Regular gatherings like this matter for Latrobe City — they build social connection among men in a region where isolation can be real, and they give reading and ideas a home in everyday community life. The pub setting keeps it grounded and accessible, not precious.

The Moe chapter meets monthly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at the Moe Hotel, 51 Lloyd St, Moe. Find the current book selection at toughguybookclub.com/books and learn more about the club at toughguybookclub.com/about-us.
