Older people in Latrobe City have a right to know their rights — and this free session at Churchill Neighbourhood Centre is here to make sure they do. Elder Rights Australia brings clarity, support, and genuine advocacy to a community that deserves it.

Elder Rights Australia (ERA) is a founding member of the National Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) and delivers the Australian Government-funded National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP). On Friday 7 August 2026, ERA representatives will be on site at Churchill Neighbourhood Centre to share essential information and support with the local community.

Attendees will learn about the National Aged Care Advocacy Program, their rights as aged care consumers, how to recognise and respond to elder abuse, and how to navigate the aged care system with confidence. The session runs for one hour and is open to everyone — no booking appears to be required.

Access to independent, trustworthy information about aged care is vital for older Latrobe Valley residents and their families. Sessions like this one help community members make informed decisions and stand up for their rights at a time when the aged care system can feel overwhelming and complex.
