Songs from the Canyon

About

The hills of Laurel Canyon echo through Traralgon when Songs from the Canyon takes the stage at GPAC on 7 November 2026. Rich harmonies, acoustic guitars and deeply felt storytelling transport audiences to one of the most creative moments in modern music history.

Songs from the Canyon is a touring stage production that revisits the legendary Laurel Canyon scene of the 1960s and 70s, where artists like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Carole King gathered in the Hollywood Hills to reshape popular music. After multiple sold-out seasons, the show returns to Victoria in 2026 with new songs added to the set list, deepening its celebration of this influential era.

Audiences will hear beautifully crafted performances from an outstanding ensemble of Australian musicians, including Husky Gawenda, Dan Kelly, Charm of Finches, Alma Zygier, Stephen Grady and Dan Challis. Expect soaring vocal harmonies, intimate acoustic moments and the warm communal spirit that defined the Canyon's creative culture, all brought to life on the GPAC stage.

Bringing a production of this calibre to Traralgon gives Latrobe City audiences access to world-class live music without leaving the region. Events like this strengthen the cultural life of the community, support local arts attendance and affirm GPAC's role as a destination venue in Gippsland.

Songs from the Canyon plays Gippsland Performing Arts Centre at 32 Kay Street, Traralgon, on Saturday 7 November 2026 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available through the GPAC website or by calling the box office on (03) 5176 3333.
