Wolfgang in the Stars

About

Gravity-defying acrobatics, live music and a faithful circus bear launch audiences into a galactic adventure that begins and ends with a single missing lullaby. Circa's Wolfgang in the Stars is a show that moves as fast as imagination and lands with real heart.

Wolfgang in the Stars is created by Circa, one of Australia's most celebrated contemporary circus companies. The production follows Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — part-time genius, full-time ratbag — who blasts off into space to recover the final notes of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, lost somewhere among the stars. The show has earned five-star reviews for blending spectacle with a genuinely moving story about friendship and finding your way home.

Audiences will witness breathtaking acrobatics, puppetry, live video projections and a score weaving Mozart with original music by Quincy Grant. A dedicated workshop on the same day invites participants aged three and over to learn circus skills and creative movement with Circa performers, building their own short sequence set to music. Comfortable clothing and a water bottle are all that is needed for the workshop, and supervising adults do not need a ticket.

Bringing world-class circus theatre to Traralgon, this event gives Latrobe City families and young people direct access to a production that has wowed audiences nationally. Events like this strengthen the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre's role as a cultural anchor for the region and remind the community that extraordinary live performance is right on the doorstep.
