Stories of resilience, hardship and hope fill the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre during Homelessness Week 2026. Walk in Her Shoes is a free community exhibition that puts faces and voices to an issue that touches lives across the Latrobe Valley every day.
Presented as part of the national Homelessness Week campaign, Walk in Her Shoes shines a light on the lived experiences of women who have faced or are facing homelessness. The exhibition draws on real stories from within the community, offering an honest and compassionate look at the circumstances, challenges and strength of women navigating life without a secure home.
Visitors walk through a series of displays exploring personal journeys, systemic barriers and the small moments of connection that carry people forward. The format is self-guided and accessible, giving you time to pause, read and reflect at your own pace. Entry is free and no booking is required, so you can drop in at any point during opening hours between 10am and 4pm.
