Pirates in the Park

About

Ahoy, me hearties — Old Gippstown is calling all young pirates to the park for a swashbuckling school holiday adventure packed with fun from bow to stern. Whether your little buccaneer arrives in full costume or dresses up on the day, this is one crew you won't want to miss.

Organised by Old Gippstown — Moe's beloved heritage village, history museum and community event venue — Pirates in the Park is a free-spirited, drop-in school holiday event designed to spark imagination and give families a brilliant reason to explore the park's historic grounds together.

Visitors can join a treasure hunt winding through the heritage village, get their face painted in proper pirate style, pick up a pirate sword crafted by the resident balloon artist, and talk like a pirate all morning long. There's plenty to see and do across the four-hour session, making it easy for families to come, explore and linger at their own pace.

Events like this are a vital part of Latrobe City's school holiday calendar, giving local families an affordable, engaging day out that also connects children and parents with the region's rich history and community spirit. Old Gippstown continues to be a cornerstone of culture and fun in the heart of Moe.

Pirates in the Park runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Friday 2 October 2026 at Old Gippstown, 211 Lloyd Street, Moe. Find Old Gippstown on Facebook for updates and to let them know you're coming.
