Newborough Parkrun

About

Crisp Saturday morning air, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and a welcoming crowd of all ages and abilities — Newborough Parkrun turns a weekly 5km into something genuinely special. Whether you sprint for a personal best or stroll with a friend, there is a place here for you.

Newborough Parkrun is a free, community-run 5km event held every Saturday at 8:00am in the beautiful Moe Botanic Garden. Part of the global parkrun network, it is organised entirely by volunteers and is open to walkers, joggers, runners, spectators and helpers of all fitness levels. Registration is required only once through the parkrun website, and participants must bring a scannable barcode to receive a time.

Visitors can expect a friendly, low-pressure atmosphere set against the natural surrounds of Botanic Drive. The course winds through parkland, with recent volunteers including a dedicated team of local community members who make each event possible. Dogs on leads and prams are welcome, and every finisher is celebrated regardless of pace.

Regular community events like Newborough Parkrun play a vital role in connecting Latrobe City residents, encouraging active lifestyles, and making the region's green spaces come alive each week. The botanic garden setting gives locals a reason to explore and appreciate one of the area's most pleasant outdoor venues.

Newborough Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 8:00am at Moe Botanic Garden, Botanic Drive, Newborough 3825. Register once for free at the parkrun website, bring your barcode, and visit the course page for route details. Volunteers are always welcome — see the volunteer page for how to get involved.
