Gippy Girls Can – Walking Netball

About

Walking netball is exactly what it sounds like — all the fun of the game, none of the running. This relaxed, social session brings women together for an hour of gentle movement, laughter, and connection.

Gippy Girls Can is a community initiative designed to get local women active in a welcoming, pressure-free environment. Walking netball adapts the traditional game so that players move at a comfortable walking pace, making it genuinely accessible regardless of fitness level, age, or previous experience with the sport.

Attendees can expect a friendly, coached session where the focus is on participation rather than competition. Whether you come with a group of mates or walk through the door on your own, you will be welcomed. There are no skill requirements, no uniforms, and no commitment beyond showing up and giving it a go.

Events like this play an important role in Latrobe City's broader health and wellbeing landscape. By lowering the barriers to physical activity for women, Gippy Girls Can helps build social connection and community confidence across the region.

The session runs from 9.30am to 10.30am on Wednesday 16 September 2026 at Latrobe Leisure Moe/Newborough, cnr Old Sale Road and Southwell Avenue, Newborough. Entry is free and no registration is required. For more information, contact Margret at [email protected].
