Gippy Girls Can: Come and Try Rhee Taekwondo

About

Taekwondo fills the hall with energy as girls of all abilities step onto the mat, ready to kick, focus and grow. These free sessions are open to anyone aged six and over who is curious about martial arts, movement or simply finding their confidence.

Rhee Taekwondo is one of Australia's longest-standing Korean martial arts organisations, teaching the discipline and philosophy of self-defence alongside physical fitness. The Moe club brings that tradition to Gippsland as part of the Gippy Girls Can initiative, which encourages local girls and young women to explore sport and active recreation in a welcoming environment.

Across six sessions running on Monday and Wednesday evenings throughout September, participants will learn fundamental Taekwondo movements, practise in a supportive group setting and experience the mental and physical benefits of martial arts first-hand. The atmosphere is family-friendly and no prior experience is needed — just comfortable clothes and a willingness to give it a go.

Opportunities like this strengthen community sport pathways in Latrobe City, giving girls in Moe access to structured physical activity at no cost and in a local venue. Building confidence and resilience through sport at a young age has lasting benefits for the whole region.

Sessions run from 6pm to 7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays from 14 to 30 September 2026 at Moe P.L.A.C.E, 37 Vale Street, Moe. Entry is free and no registration is required. For more information contact Rhee Taekwondo Moe at [email protected].
