About

The unmistakable aroma of grilled skewers and crispy spring rolls fills the air as Filipino home cooks bring the heart of their kitchen to Morwell. This is food that tells a story of family, celebration and community, served with warmth and pride.

This session is the first of four Tuesday lunches in the Cultural Food Festival, a community initiative supported by the Victoria State Government and hosted at Morwell Neighbourhood House. Each week a different cultural community takes centre stage to share their culinary heritage.

Visitors can expect a generous spread of beloved Filipino dishes — think barbecue skewers, steamed white rice, savoury lumpia and punchy dipping sauces — prepared by members of the local Filipino community. It is an invitation to eat well, ask questions and connect with neighbours.

Events like this reflect the richness of Latrobe City's diverse population and create meaningful spaces where cultural exchange happens naturally, over a shared meal. They remind the region that its greatest asset is its people.

The Filipino session runs from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Tuesday 1 September at Morwell Neighbourhood House, 48–50 Beattie Crescent, Morwell. To RSVP, call 5134 5488 or reach out via Messenger.
