About
There is something quietly powerful about stepping onto the mat for the first time — and these three Wednesday evenings in Traralgon are your invitation to do exactly that. Rhee Taekwondo is offering a free, no-pressure come-and-try experience designed specifically for girls and women of all fitness levels.
Rhee Taekwondo is one of Australia's longest-established martial arts organisations, teaching the traditional Korean discipline of self-defence, discipline, and respect. The Traralgon club runs as part of the Gippy Girls Can initiative, a community program that encourages girls and women across Gippsland to get active and discover new sports.
Participants will move through the fundamental stances, blocks, and kicks that form the foundation of Taekwondo, guided by experienced instructors in a supportive, family-friendly environment. Expect to work up a sweat, laugh a little, and leave feeling more confident and capable than when you walked in.
Events like this strengthen the fabric of Latrobe City by giving girls and young women a safe space to build fitness, resilience, and community connection outside of school and work. Encouraging participation in martial arts at a grassroots level helps grow a more active and confident regional community.
Sessions run every Wednesday — 16, 23, and 30 September 2026 — from 6pm to 7pm at St James Anglican Church Hall, 100 Grey Street, Traralgon. No registration is required; simply arrive ready to move. For more information, contact the Traralgon club at [email protected].
